The Coal to Solar (C2S) project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, is planned to be implemented from the third quarter of 2026. The project aims to provide heating and energy solutions for 400 selected households in Ulaanbaatar’s ger districts using solar collectors and renewable energy technologies, sell the excess electricity generated to the central power grid, and ultimately integrate participating households into the carbon credit market.
The project will collaborate with the Ulaanbaatar Green Housing Project, and representatives from both projects participated in the initial stakeholder meeting. During the meeting, the preliminary selection criteria for participating households were presented, and it was mutually agreed that the household selection process would be conducted openly and transparently, based on consolidated feedback and improvements.
